WINGS Data Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on Tuesday May 25, 2018. WINGS has updated its privacy policy accordingly. GDPR is a new set of rules designed to give EU citizens more control over their personal data. It aims to simplify the regulatory environment for business and creates a framework for data controllers to be transparent and accountable. Our Privacy Policy below enlightens how WINGS uses and protects the information provided by its members and network, including details on how its data is collected, stored, protected and processed. WINGS is committed to keeping your personal information private and secure. By submitting personal information to us, you agree that we may use the information in accordance with this privacy policy. We will update this privacy policy as we deem necessary and alert our Network to changes.

Information that we may collect from our whole network

General information

There are certain actions and areas of the site that require you to provide professional information. We may collect from you basic information (your name, the name of your organization, contact and address). All the information provided to WINGS automatically are added to our CRM, so when you subscribe to our communications, you agree with receiving the monthly free e-Newsletter about WINGS’s activities and new issue/article/event/offer announcements. You may choose to stop receiving emails from WINGS or refuse to renew your subscription to the newsletter or blog at any time by emailing: info@wingsweb.org

Surveys

As part as our activity, WINGS surveys its members and compiles reports on philanthropy infrastructure from the data we gather. We use the website www.surveymonkey.com to launch these surveys. For this purpose, we may ask you for some objective and subjective information. Data is only used in aggregate form and any deviation from this, we will contact you directly for permission for use beforehand.

Information that we may collect from our members only

For the Membership Application

  • Basic information: name of your organisation and its acronym, address (country, city, main address), contact (e-mail, telephone)
  • Primary and additional contacts: Mail, position and telephone
  • About the organisation: Type of Support organisation, mission and vision, geographic areas served, program areas, services offered, staff (number of paid staff, employed by the organization, number of volunteers)
  • Any emails you provide WINGS with will not be visible to the public on your page profile. Only WINGS members can see other WINGS member emails.

    Financial information

    We may track some financial and budget information from our members and other philanthropy support organizations. WINGS collects this information to better serve its members and network and as part of its mission to increase knowledge about the field of support to philanthropy. We may display general information on our network map and member profiles based on their membership application and communications with WINGS. We offer all members, at any point during the membership application phase and after, the option to change their sharing preferences. At any point, should a member wish to stop sharing specific organizational information with the public via our website and communications, please contact the WINGS office who can immediately take it down.

    What we do with the information we tracked

    We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Deliver free newsletter
  • Send new contents and events
  • Send informative email about activities of the network and opportunities.
  • As mentioned above, we may use some aggregated information to produce knowledge and reports about the field. Information is strictly confidential and never shared or sold for commercial purpose.

     

    Storage of data

    The CRM used by WINGS

    WINGS use the CRM Platform www.yourmembership.com to collect your data. YourMembership is a website that provides services and products for associations. All the registration information are stored in this platform and available on our website for the web-users. ((differentiate members info and other CRM info))

    Access to your information and erasure

    When you register and become a member of the WINGS network, we may create for you an organizational profile on YourMembership. It provides access to your information so that you may be able to update and modify it whenever you have to. Occasionally, we may update it for you so your information remains up-to-date.

    You may request details of professional information which we hold about you under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please email info@wingsweb.org. You may also choose to have all your information erased from our records, to do so please email info@wingsweb.org If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us info@wingsweb.org as soon as possible at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

    The use of the cookies

    A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be stored on your computer. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences. WINGS, by means of YourMembership, uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used.
