Scholarship Programs: Challenges and Solutions

Time:1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Location:The Graustein Memorial Fund, Hamden, CT

For staff and trustees of grantmaking organizations

Private scholarships, such as those awarded by many Connecticut foundations, businesses, and civic groups, are an essential ingredient in the financial aid packages of many traditional and nontraditional students. Most scholarship funders seek to make a meaningful difference in the amount of money students and their families must pay or borrow for college costs. What are the issues scholarship funders are facing and how can they be addressed?

This is an opportunity for scholarship funders to come together to discuss current issues and trends in scholarship grantmaking. Explore new approaches to making effective scholarship grants and share your experiences in administering this increasingly important and complex type of grantmaking. The program will encourage full participation and discussion to provide an opportunity for all attendees to share and learn.
